Nickel Welding Wires/Rods

Nickel alloy provides excellent high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, which can be resistant to various corrosive media at 200 ~ 1090℃, it also an ideal combination of good strength, high temperature and low-temperature properties, has been widely in the petrochemical, nuclear, aerospace and other industrial.

The same chemistry should choose nickel welding wire with the base materials.  It can be electrode arc welding, TIG, MIG, plasma arc welding, sometimes automatic submerged arc welding for the plate with thickness. The linear expansion coefficient of the base metal, the strength and corrosion resistance of the weld metal, as well as the sensitivity of cracks and pores during welding should be considered when welding different types of welding nickel materials.

Weldermetals is a leading platform of welding wires, rods and welding flux for Nickel, Incoloy, Inconel, Hastelloy alloy MIG, TIG(GTAW) welding. Our wires strictly conform to the standards and manufactured as per the specifications of the AWS, ISO, BS, EN and GB. They are manufactured in the grades ERNi-1, ERNiCr-3, 14 ERNiCrMo-10, ERNiCrMo-3, ERNiCrMo-4, ERNiCu-7, or others. You can contact our sales representative or the contact form for more information.

Nickel TIG Welding Wire

TIG(Tungsten Inert Gas Welding) is the most commonly used welding method for nickel and its alloy, generally direct current, a positive electrode, high-frequency arc and current attenuation, delay gas off were used when welding process. TIG process is especially for the structural sheet parts where the thickness less than 12.5mm, sealing run of joints or the residual slag is not allowed after welding for solid solution reinforced nickel alloy and precipitated hardened nickel alloy. Small welding line energy and narrow welding pass are used and the arc length is generally 1~1.5mm in order to prevent cracks.

Nickel MIG Welding Wire

MIG is popular for solution strengthening nickel alloy. The chemistry of most nickel alloy wires is similar to that of the base metal, but alloying elements such as Ti, Mn and Nb are added to the wires to compensate for the burning of certain elements and avoid pores and thermal cracks. Nickel welding wire with a diameter of less than 1.2mm generally uses short circuit transition, and welding wire with a diameter of 1.2mm and 1.6mm uses droplet transition or jet transition. The precipitation reinforced nickel alloy and casting nickel alloy with high Al and Ti content are not suitable for MIG welding due to their high crack sensitivity.
